Donau Soja is an international non-profit organisation based in Vienna. Donau Soja promotes a GM-free sustainable and regional protein supply. Hereby the Danube Soya Standard and its Guidelines comprise the foundation pillars. The Donau Soja Organic Standard has been developed for organic soya bean production. Donau Soja is from the Danube region and GM-free. Soya farmers comply with EU plant protection regulations and EU (ILO) labour and social standards. Furthermore their land usage is limited to fields that have already been cultivated for agricultural purposes prior to 1 January 2008. Prominent European institutes and organisations support this ambitious initiative. Food retailers large agricultural trade houses the animal feed industry oil mills and numerous processors as well as environmental organisations such as Greenpeace Global 2000 and WWF are all members and vital Danube Soya Association contributors. The Twickel Wine Estate is the biggest winery in the rapidly developing Szekszárd wine region in Hungary. The Twickel family from North-Rhine Westphalia acquired the wineyards in 1993. artisanatura – art of applied ecology is an association which aims at gathering agroecological farmers together with strong and proven experiences in order to exchange their know-how and best practices. True biological agriculture is an art because it takes several years to optimise techniques for soils water animals vegetals etc.: we aim to preserve know-how developed by our farmers in order to transmit them to future generations. We do it working with a network of young people to be trained in these know-how in projects managed directly on the farms. Our members' fams are getting better applying others’ members proven skills and young people are preparing to be future ecological farmers. Together we are stronger and a solid friendship is the cement of our projects. We do it not only to promote nature but for rebuilding our communities. For that reason philosophers and anthropologist are taking part to the association. Agroecology is the study of ecological processes applied to agricultural production systems (we certainly belong also to the permaculture movement). Farms exchanging their rich and strong experiences within our association are 100% free of chemicals. They work for making nature stronger to produce the best quality products for human beings. They also seek to enhance local community quality of life. Transmission of know-how is given in priority to the future generation of agroecological farmers and their projects to launch new agroecological farms. Nestled on the west hills of the Hood River Valley Phelps Creek Vineyards offers breathtaking views of the Columbia Gorge and Mt. Hood. Our small boutique winery focuses on estate grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
