ENTSOG - European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas
The European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) works to promote the completion and functioning of the internal market and cross-border trade for gas and to ensure the optimal management coordinated operation and sound technical evolution of the European natural gas transmission network. It was created in Brussels on 1 December 2009 by 31 TSOs from 21 European countries to ensure early progress towards the single market. Other TSOs are expected to join in the near future in line with Regulation (EC) 715/2009 on conditions for access to the natural gas transmission networks and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1775/2005 (Regulation) which created the legal basis for the organisation establishment. The objectives of the organisation are defined in the Regulation. The work will include: - elaboration of network codes - development of Community wide ten-year network development plan (TYNDP) - enhancing the provision of information to the market - delivering common network operational tools to co-ordinate network operation.

The Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Turkey signed an Agreement on Cooperation in Ankara on May 12 2010. The Agreement provides for construction of the Nuclear Power Plant comprising four power units of AES-2006 Project with VVER-1200 reactor of the total capacity of 4 800 MW on the South coast of Turkey in Mersin province. Akkuyu NPP Construction Project in Turkey is the first NPP project implemented on the BOO (build-own-operate) principles. Under the long-term contract the Company assumes responsibility for designing constructing maintaining operating and decommissioning of the plant. It is worth to note that Russian companies will provide the bulk delivery of equipment and hi-tech products for Project implementation but the Project also supposes maximum involvement of Turkish companies in construction and assembly activities as well as companies from other countries. In the future Turkish specialists will participate in NPP operation at every stage of the Plant life.
