Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR)
The Pebble Bed Modular Reactor State Owned Company (SOC) was established in 1999 with the intention to design produce and market small-scale a high-temperature gas reactor to generate electricity. Pebble Bed Modular Reactor Company is a 100% shareholding subsidiary of Eskom Holdings. The PBMR was national project. The plant would have had been able to produce safe clean energy. In 2010 project was stopped by management. From 2010 onwards the Company is in a state of Care and Maintenance incorporating IP preservation. Prefabricados Ojefer SL is a second-generation family business that began its activity in the mid-60s in the town of Almacelles (Lleida). After many years of manufacturing custom concrete elements in a very artisanal way, in 1997 it began its expansion and expansion process, acquiring in two stages 80,000 square meters of industrial land in the neighboring town of Altorricón (Huesca).
